4D ultrasound is the newest of the ultrasounds, it is based on the same principles as the rest. The difference with the 3D ultrasound lays on the addition of the time dimension. We can see the baby moving in real time.
To obtain a good real-time image of the foetus, it is necessary to have a good 3D scanning prior to attempting the 4D scan.
