The delivery rate of assisted reproductive techniques provides information on the probability of achieving the birth of a healthy baby after artificial insemination (AI) or in vitro fertilization (IVF).
As can be seen in this image, the success rates of IVF are much higher than those of AI. Likewise, the success rates decrease for both techniques as the woman gets older.
For example, in women under 35 years of age, the success rate for IVF-ICSI is 29.7%, while AI has a success rate of 14.3%. In contrast, these percentages are reduced to 15.7% and 6.0% respectively in women over 40 years of age. The results shown in the image have been obtained from the statistical registry of the year 2022 of the Spanish Fertility Society.
