Vegetables and fruits should be an important part of a pregnant woman's diet. Ideally, she should eat at least 5 servings a day (3 fruits and 2 vegetables).
These foods will provide fiber, important to avoid constipation so frequent in pregnancy, but also vitamins and minerals needed during pregnancy.
However, it is important to remember to wash and sanitize raw fruits and vegetables, as well as fresh aromatic herbs (such as basil).
