IVF using donor sperm is especially indicated for heterosexual couples in which the male partner suffers from severe male infertility, either due to sperm production problems —e.g. azoospermia, cancer treatments, etc.— or poor-quality sperm —e.g. genetic alterations, oligospermia, asthenozoospermia...—. Also donor sperm may be the definitive solution to avoid the transmission of hereditary diseases.
Lesbian couples as well as single women wishing to have a child can make their dream come true thanks to sperm donation.
