Thanks to embryo vitrification and its meticulous technique, in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments have been optimized to the maximum. By being able to vitrify the embryos and store them for long periods of time, multiple pregnancy rates have been reduced since it is increasingly common to transfer a single embryo.
In addition, embryo vitrification has increased the cumulative pregnancy rate and reduced the physical and emotional stress on the patients. Devitrified embryos have a high survival rate, so the risks of this embryo cryopreservation technique are minimal.
