Can I be pregnant if my period comes early?

My dear, I am 39 and I’ve been trying to conceive for over 20 years non-stop. I expected my period to start on August, 6 but it came earlier, on August, 4. It lasted about 5-6 days, which is normal. But two weeks ago I started to feel sickness, nausea, breast pain and I’m always sleepy. My belly is bloated as if I had something living on the inside, lower abdominal pain and a strong kidney pain, similar to that you feel with a renal colic, you know what I mean? I took a test today but the result was negative 🙁 But I still believe there are chances for me being pregnant, what’s your opinion?

  2. Dear Ursula,

It is just a menstrual alteration. Your period came early this time, but it does not necessarily mean you are pregnant.

BTW, if you have been trying to conceive for so long, the most probable outcome is there is some fertility problem. I strongly recommend you to resort to a fertility clinic so that you and your partner undergo an infertility test.

    Good luck!
