Conceiving my second child with a repeat egg donor

Hey, my son is now 4 years old and he’s a donor-conceived child, I used donor eggs. As everything went wonderful then, now I wish to have another baby, so I’m considering turning to egg donation again, but with the same egg donor I used 4 years ago. How can I possibly do that?

  2. Hello Karolina,

using a repeat donor is probably easier in the case of sperm donation than with egg donation, as there is a larger number of sperm banks than egg banks.

Fertility clinics which include donor egg programs, egg donation is usually done using fresh eggs and once the recipient has been matched with the donor; therefore, donor eggs are not usually stored. However, there exist also egg banks with their own egg donors that usually ship eggs to fertility clinics.

This means everything depends on whether the woman who donated her eggs a 4 years ago has frozen eggs available in an egg bank or not, or if she’s still able to donate one more time. Keep in mind that it’s been 4 years ever since.

I hope I’ve been able to help,

    Best wishes
