After suffering from hair loss, hot flashes, and mood swings, I went to the doctors. I got diagnosed with premature ovarian failure at the age of 37. The problem is, my partner and I would like to have children but due to circumstances, we didn’t plan on getting pregnant earlier.

Now, I have this diagnosis and I don’t know how to conceive. I suppose a natural pregnancy is not possible anymore. I’m therefore looking for a specialist in Connecticut since we both reside here.

  2. Good morning Melissafertility,

I’m very sorry to hear this. Getting this diagnosis must be very hard. However, you shouldn’t give up hope because there’s still a chance for you to conceive.

There are women in their 30s who can get good embryos through IVF with their own eggs. Another option is to perform an oocyte collection. If this shouldn’t work, you may think about egg donation. For more information about your pregnancy chances with POF, I suggest you keep on reading here: Premature Ovarian Failure- Causes, Symptoms, and Pregnancy.

In order to undergo a fertility treatment, it is necessary to see a fertility specialist who helps you determine which pregnancy option is best for you. We from inviTRA always recommend visiting at least two or three fertility centers in order to compare the impressions of each of them and choose the one which you feel most comfortable with. Here in our directory, you get a list of fertility centers in your preferred area: Fertility clinics in Connecticut.

    Hope this helps,

    Best regards
