Hello! My sister suffers from Resistant Ovary Syndrome (ROS) and she wants to have a baby, but she cannot get a natural pregnancy… She’s been married for 4 years now. She’s 33 years old, currently highly frustrated because there’s nothing she wants more than to have a baby. What are her chances through fertility treatment? Does she have a chance? Thank you very much.

  2. Dear Noelia,

Resistant Ovary Syndrome (ROS), also known as “Savage syndrome” or “Quisling syndrome”, characterizes because of the absence of ovulation in the woman suffering from it, because her ovaries do not response to hormonal stimulation.

The ovarian tissue presents primordial follicles, but they are unable to develop either naturally or through controlled ovarian stimulation used for in vitro fertilization cycles (IVF).

Thus, I’m afraid your sister needs to use donor eggs if she wishes to have a baby.

    Best regards
