    Dear Doctor,

Sorry to bother you, but I’d appreciate some help here understanding the results of my hormone testing.

By the way, I’m trying to conceive my second child because the last attempt was unsuccessful. I went through miscarriage when I was 5.5 weeks pregnant…

Well, I did my hormone testing on day 21 of my menstrual cycle (1, July 2015). I give you here the results I obtained so that kindly you could tell me what are my chances of getting pregnant, right?

    Thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH): 1.3
    Free T4 (free thyroxine): 0.58
    Progesterone: 8.6
    Prolactin: 12.2

    Thank you very much!!

  2. Dear Earnestine,

Your prolactin, progesterone and TSH levels are within the specified values; however, your free T4 levels are far below the normal values, which may be an indicator of hypothyroidism.

Hypothyroidism is one of the main causes preventing women from achieving pregnancy.

The best you can do is seeing your doctor so that s/he determines whether you’re indeed suffering from hypothyroidism.

    Good luck!
