What do you need to look at when going to a fertility clinic?

Ever been in need of going to fertility clinic? that is a question most women go through. i had an opportunity to sample through several fertility clinics when looking for a solution. however, the varied number of clinics and their scope leaves most of us in limbo.
for starters, some of the fertility clinics may be advertising what they do not offer.
    however, some other things matter and i think we can share them on this forum. in my research, some of the following may just do;
the level of turn over of the staff- you may need to look at the clinic staff history, how long has the current staff been there, how many are they?
the levels of quality and the available fertility options. in this case, choose the one that offer the widest number of solutions.
the other social and ethical scopes of the clinic, as to how the decision making process go and how they treat clients.
    of importance consider you budget.
    what do you think?

  2. Dear monica13,

If you’re looking for a clinic in the United States, my advice is that you start by consulting the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART) in order to look for data. It allows you to get success rates for individual clinics. It also offer a patient predictor to make it easier for you to understand your chances.

Once you have examined the SART data, a good idea would be to make a list of preferences. When you have 3 or 4 clinics that fit your needs, contact the clinic and ask them about their success rates, and how they compare to the national average. When choosing the right one, you should take into account your comfort and preferences (location, gender, language, family type…).

When you make up your mind, it is time for you to get as much data about your clinic as possible. Technology, hours, insurance coverage, additional services, doctors…

Anyway, this is a very personal decision and there may be other factors that are important for you.

I hope I have been able to help,

    Best wishes

  3. Hmm, this seems to be a very interesting discussion here. Well, I have been to many infertility clinics too. However, I found only one that suited my expectations well. With the rest, if one thing was good about them, the other was bad. Infertility clinics are responsible for treating such delicate issues. I think the most important characteristic is their cooperation. I think that infertility makes people very insecure about themselves. This is why these clinics should be extra cautious about their behavior. There is nothing more disappointing than any rude or indifferent staff. I’m glad I had great service for myself and my baby. Good luck everyone.

  4. Such a great post, I think people should be aware of what characteristics they may look for in the fertility clinics. I would suggest that to look into the database of your country, it includes the fertility cis who have higher success rates in treating the fertility issues. However, you must keep in mind that the database may have those clinics who’s performance has greatly reduced to date. It’s best to look for the updated database. The clinic must not be experiencing a high staff turn over. This shows how the staff is skilled and the more the experienced staff would be more the success depends on it. Moreover, the clinic has to equipped with latest technology and deals in wide range of FET.
These are what I looked into when deciding a fertility clinic. Lastly, how budget-friendly packages they have, but never compromise health over money!!

  5. Joining the discussion. If the next step in your journey to get pregnant is to look for a fertility clinic, it pays to do a little homework first.
There are lots of reasons why a fertility clinic might be a good choice. Let’s say you’re having trouble getting pregnant, and so far your gynecologist has given you advice. Maybe he’s run a blood test for hormones. or asked you to record your BBT for a couple of months. At the same time, your dh has been checked out by a urologist. When it comes time to diagnose the problem and suggest solutions, you may wish there were a single doctor you both could see. That’s where the infertility specialist comes in.
Before you get started on your search for a fertility clinic, find out what kind of tests or procedures you may need down the road. And give some thought ahead of time to how far you’re willing to go with this process. Infertility treatments can cost many thousands of dollars and involve strong drugs or hormones. It can also be an emotional roller coaster. Knowing your limits will keep you from being talked into some new procedure that you really don’t want and can’t afford.
When it’s time to choose a clinic, do thorough research ahead of time. Keep in mind that some fertility centers that looked great several years ago may have had a lot of turnover in staff and may have gone downhill in quality. But the numbers give you a place to start.

  6. At the clinic we’ve been with guys guarantee success. This means they will keep on trying unless you get your baby. Have you heard of many other places offering you money refund is you’re not successful? I bet no. Needless to tell about clinics’ restrictions. They treat the toughest cases knowing well they might not contribute to the success rates in advance. That’s why it’s not surprising all of your economy packages were sold out. Affordable costs is a huge factor for couples. Actually we came to Ukraine for this. Also surrogacy friendly legislation of the country. I really hope for economy surrogacy packages to appear again some time later..

  7. Hello girls, I see that the experiences discussed are a little old. I’d like to know if anyone has been there recently. I’m looking at several options and the clinic california center for reproductive medicine is one of them. I would also like to know some tips for the first visit. My partner and I are very nervous. After finding out that my husband’s sperm is a little lazy, we have discussed a lot about this topic. Whatever you tell me, I’m sure it will help.

  8. Hi Sara,

If your partner’s sperm are lazy, it’s because his semen has asthenozoospermia. Depending on their severity, the treatments indicated are conventional IVF, IVF-ICSI and, as a last resort, sperm donation. You can obtain more information by clicking here: What Is Asthenozoospermia? – Causes and Treatment.

In addition, I recommend that you use the Fertility Report, a tool with which you will obtain personalized information about the clinics in your area that meet our quality criteria. This way you will be able to compare budgets, services included, etc. from home. You will also receive some advice on your first visit.

    Hope this helps you,

    wish you all the best.
