Hydrosalpinx consists of the dilation and distension of the tubes due to the accumulation of fluid in them, which causes tubal obstruction and female sterility.
Depending on whether one or both tubes are affected, this pathology can be differentiated into unilateral hydrosalpinx or bilateral hydrosalpinx.
