In addition to the obvious causes of male and/or female sterility that require ICSI, there are other indications within an assisted reproduction treatment that require the use of this technique:
- When previous IVF attempts have failed.
- When are you going to have a PGD.
- When the ovules to be fertilized have been devitrified.
In addition, ICSI can also be performed as a "rescue" if there is fertilization failure after conventional IVF and in cases of in vitro oocyte maturation.
