The intrauterine device or IUD is an effective and convenient method of contraception, since it is placed in the uterus and the woman does not have to worry about anything else. In addition, the IUD can be used during breastfeeding or just after an abortion.
Other advantages of IUD use are as follows:
- It does not alter mood or sex drive.
- It does not interfere with intimate relations.
It should be noted that the woman will regain her fertility and reproductive capacity immediately after IUD removal.
