Hi, I’m 42 years old and my husband is 41. I can’t get pregnant and I don’t understand what’s going on. My periods are still regular… We are currently living in Madrid, we speak some Spanish, but we feel more comfortable with English. Some acquaintances have told us to visit an assisted reproduction clinic and have told us about IVF Spain. Can anyone tell me about the prices?

  2. Hello Carrotcake,

You should know that as women get older, our ovarian reserve decreases. This means that the number of eggs we are born with is depleted over time until the menopause is reached. In addition to the reduction in the number of eggs available, the quality of the eggs also deteriorates. This happens most drastically from around the age of 35 onwards.

For this reason, most specialists advise IVF rather than AI in women over 37-38 years of age.

In terms of price, IVF usually costs between 3,500 and 5,500 euros approximately, although it will depend on each fertility centre and the services included. In addition, most budgets do not include hormone medication, which means an additional 1,000 euros.

I invite you to learn more about the cost of the techniques in the following article: What is the price of assisted reproduction treatments?

I hope I have helped you.
    Best regards.

    • Marta, do you have any information about the IVF Spain Madrid clinic? I have been diagnosed with early ovarian failure and I will need IVF with donor eggs and I was thinking about this centre, can you tell me anything? I would be very grateful.

    • Hello Jacoby,

The truth is yes, we were there a while ago visiting the IVF Spain Madrid clinic, formerly known as Procreatec.

It is a clinic located in the Chamartín district of Madrid and all its facilities are modern. When you enter the clinic, you will find the reception and the common waiting room. In addition, if you go downstairs, either by stairs or by lift, there is another waiting room for donors. This prevents patients and donors from crossing paths, which guarantees anonymity.

IVF Spain Madrid has 3 consultation rooms, all of which have an examination room and bathroom.

The operating theatre is large and has all the necessary equipment. In addition, there is a mobile articulated stretcher in the operating theatre. This allows the patient to be moved directly to the recovery room. In the recovery room there is a private toilet, a seat for the patient’s companion, a mirror, etc.

On the other hand, IVF Spain Madrid has two laboratories, one for andrology for seminograms, sperm capacitation, etc. and the other for IVF. Both laboratories have the material and equipment necessary to carry out the assisted reproduction techniques offered. They also have a time lapse incubator (Embryoscope).

Here are some pictures we took when we were there:

I hope you find it useful.
      Best regards.
