Male sterility due to a sperm factor refers to alterations in the spermatozoa. When it is caused by a low number of sperm in the ejaculate, we distinguish between:
- Oligozoospermia
- when there are between 15 million/ml and 100,000 spermatozoa/ml.
- Cryptozoospermia
- if there are less than 100,000 spermatozoa/ml.
- Azoospermia
- no sperm in the ejaculate.
