During the 4th month of pregnancy, the embryo develops a layer on the skin that is called lanugo. Its role is to protect the fetus against cold. For this reason, lanugo covers all parts of its body.

Also, the fetus increases in weight to the point that the belly of the pregnant woman is now visible to the plain eye.
