Laparoscopic removal of teratomas

Teratomas can be addressed through different methods depending on the type detected. However, they are usually removed by means of laparoscopic surgery. Moreover, if it was a malignant tumor, the patient should undergo chemotherapy.

Benign ovarian tumors are typically removed by laparoscopic surgery. It is a minimally invasive technique that consists in inserting a tiny, lighted camera through the abdomen to look inside the cavity. It requires the surgeon to make just a small incision in the abdomen.
