Terarozoospermia is a seminal alteration characterized by a high percentage of amorphous spermatozoa. Although there has been an update of the Laboratory Manual for Semen Examination and Processing in 2021 (constituting the sixth edition), the most common is to continue with the criteria of the fifth edition.
In this sense, a semen was diagnosed with teratozoospermia when the percentage of spermatozoa with normal forms was less than 4%.
Patients in this situation should follow a healthy lifestyle with a balanced diet and avoid smoking and alcohol. In addition, the consumption of oily fish is an option as a natural treatment for teratozoospermia, as well as Andean maca for its antioxidant content.
