There are couples who don't want to contain their excitement and decide to share with family and friends that they are expecting a baby before the first trimester of pregnancy is over (when the risk of miscarriage is reduced).
While this is a valid option if it is what makes them feel comfortable, it means having to break the bad news if something eventually goes wrong. However, some couples see this as an advantage, as they do not have to go through such a hard time as a gestational loss without support.
On the other hand, the pregnant woman may be overwhelmed by questions, comments and advice (which may even be intrusive and uncomfortable) very early on.
