Disadvantages of intratubal zygote transfer

Intratubal zygote transfer or ZIFT has several disadvantages. On the one hand, ZIFT requires surgery for the introduction of the zygotes into the fallopian tubes, so the risks are higher. In addition, intratubal transfer has a higher cost.

On the other hand, ZIFT has a higher rate of ectopic pregnancy and multiple pregnancy. All these disadvantages mean that the usual method of embryo transfer is intrauterine.
