Chances of chemical pregnancy after positive test

I’ve had multiple positive pregnancy tests this week. My last period was on 03/10/18 and ended on 03/14/18. My cycles are irregular but I get one at least every 30-35 days. I’m guessing my period is due on 10th. I have had multiple chemical pregnancies and am scared this will be one. The positives are very dark, but I have gotten them before. Where do I go from here?

  2. Dear lotuslove,

If you have a history of chemical pregnancies and you suspect that this may be another one, my advice is that you visit your doctor as soon as possible. Normally, we know that a chemical pregnancy has occurred if the levels of beta hCG hormone do not double every 48 hours. So, the only possible way to find it out is by doing a blood pregnancy test to measure the levels of hCG. Home pregnancy tests are useless in this sense.

If embryo loss tends to be recurrent due to implantation dysfunction, it may mean that your uterus is a non-receptive one. If this is your third chemical pregnancy, perhaps you may need to undergo an IVF (in vitro fertilization) cycle to have a baby successfully. Implantation problems should be evaluated before proceeding to an IVF cycle, though. Talk with your doctor about all this.
