Hey, I was accepted a month ago to become an egg donor 😀 and my GYN/OB prescribed me Ovitrelle now that I’m on the final stage of the process. The thing is he did not mention what the purpose of this medicine is, and I’d like to find it out because I’m concerned about its side effects, and apart from that I don’t know what’s its function. Could you give me some hints? Thanks!

  2. Hello,

The main function of this fertility medication is allowing the final maturation of oocytes that have been previously produced thanks to the intake of another fertility drugs such as Puregon. Ovitrelle contains recombinant hCG, which allows ovulation to start 36 hours after taking it. This is the reason why it should be administered shortly before performing the follicular puncture.

If you want to get further info about this fertility medicine, I recommend you to read the following article: https://www.invitra.com/en/ovitrelle/

    Hope this helps
