Differences between conventional IVF and IVF-ICSI

ICSI is a type of in vitro fertilization (IVF) that differs from the conventional procedure only in the egg insemination step.

With conventional IVF, it is the sperm itself which fertilizes the egg. With ICSI, however, the spermatozoon is inserted with a microinjection needle inside the egg cell.
