Oocyte accumulation and vitrification

A potential solution for poor responders to ovarian stimulation is called oocyte accumulation after various IVF cycles. It involves the vitrification of all the eggs retrieved in each IVF cycle in spite of poor ovarian response.

When the number of eggs is an good one, all the eggs collected are thawed, mixed with the ones retrieved in the last cycle, and fertilized in the lab. With this option, ICSI is the treatment of choice, given that the eggs used have gone through the freezing-thawing process.
