Preimplantation genetic screening of embryos: procedure step by step

In order for the genetics of the embryo to be examined, one or two cells are removed though a biopsy. The genetic code of the cell removed is screened to check for the presence of genetic abnormalities. The most viable (healthy) embryos are selected for being transferred to the maternal uterus depending on the outcome.
