Gamete donor identity disclosure

In Croatia, the Law on Medically Assisted Reproduction (MAR) established that children conceived via gamete donation, either eggs or sperm, have the right to be told about their genetic origins.

Thus, once they reach the legal age, which is to say, when they turn 18, the will be allowed to access the donor's medical records, personal data, and find out the identity of the donor.

However, the donor will not be able to meet the donor-conceived individual or the couple who is about to receive his/her gametes. Such information will remain confidential.
