What is embryonic development?

Embryonic development is the period of time from the union of the egg and sperm, i.e. fertilization, until the day of delivery.

When fertilization occurs correctly, the zygote is formed. This would correspond to the first stage of the embryonic development process. This is followed by the formation of the blastula, the gastrula, and, finally, differentiation.
