The postpartum period is a demanding period, since the woman must recover after childbirth, but at the same time the needs and care of a baby must be taken care of. Therefore, some recommendations for this period, especially if you are a new mother and it is the first time you are going through this stage, are:
- Prepare meals in advance, so as not to do it in the first days of more rest.
- Set a limit to visits if they become overwhelming for new parents.
- Sleep when the baby sleeps.
- Establish priorities.
- Ask for help for basic but necessary things.
- Take care of yourself. It is essential to be able to take care of the baby. Exercise, pay attention to nutrition and hydration and seek help for any symptoms of postpartum depression.
It is a period of adaptation and learning, which comes with practice and experience, and little by little you will gain confidence.
