Postpartum telogen effluvium is an abundant hair loss that occurs in women after giving birth. The reason is that, after childbirth, women return to pre-pregnancy hormone levels and, therefore, the hair loss cycle returns to normal.
This means that the hair that was growing during pregnancy due to the increase in estrogen now falls out postpartum.
In any case, if this abundant hair loss is prolonged beyond 6 months after childbirth, you should consult a specialist for an assessment.
