Serodiscordant couples who wish to have a natural pregnancy, without assisted reproduction techniques, may try as long as the following requirements and indications are met:
- The HIV-infected partner must have a very low or undetectable viral load.
- The couple must not have any other sexually transmitted disease.
- The couple must not have fertility problems that prevent natural pregnancy.
- Unprotected sex should only take place on a woman's fertile days.
