When a couple has fertility problems, some isolation is common. This occurs because the couple does not feel comfortable in social gatherings with family or friends who have children or are expecting a baby. Avoiding such gatherings is also a way to avoid uncomfortable questions and opinions.
However, couples also isolate themselves for other reasons. Listlessness and low spirits, trying to save money to pay for fertility treatment, and taking up holidays with visits to the clinic also contribute to the couple's withdrawal from hobbies and activities together.
