Transsexuality, also called gender dysphoria or gender identity disorder, is a term given to those who are not identified with the sex of their genitals. That is why people with gender dysphoria present a discordance between their gender identity and the physical sex of their genitals.
Recently, and due to different scientific studies that endorse it, the WHO has changed the term transsexual for the term gender identity. This is due to the modification of their condition, as transsexuality was formerly classified as a mental disorder and not as a condition related to sexual health.
