There are several reasons that may lead a woman or couple to decide to stop and not to pursue further assisted reproductive treatments when several unsuccessful attempts have been made. Among the main reasons for abandoning fertility treatments are:
- Emotional situation.
- Poor evolution of previous treatments.
- Not accepting gamete or embryo donation.
- Lack of financial resources to continue.
In addition, a couple can also abandon fertility treatments because they have achieved pregnancy in a natural way.
