In the 14th week of pregnancy, it is already possible to distinguish all the structures of the fetus in ultrasound and to measure separately the head, abdomen, and femur. The approximate measurements of the baby in this 14th week are between 8-10 cm, about the size of a lemon, and its weight should be around 25-40 g.
On the other hand, the baby's nourishment already depends solely on the placenta and the yolk vesicle has disappeared. The nutrients and oxygen needed for further development reach the fetus through the umbilical cord and maternal blood.
