At 20 weeks gestation, the fetus measures about 25 centimeters from head to toe and weighs about 280 grams.
As can be seen in the image, this week of pregnancy the baby is usually said to be about the size of a banana. The mother's uterus has increased in size to accommodate the new being, so it pushes the abdominal wall forward and the lungs upward.
