Limitations of 4D ultrasound

Ultrasound is a test that provides fairly clear images of the baby, although in 10% of cases this is not the case. It is important to perform the 4D ultrasound at an appropriate time, since, for example, from the third trimester of pregnancy, the volume of the fetus is too large and there is little amniotic fluid. This would make it difficult to visualize the baby.

In addition, the patient should be aware that the ultrasound scan may take about 35 minutes because contractions may occur in the uterus as a result of the manipulation.

Another disadvantage of 4D ultrasound is the cost. Its price is much higher than that of a black and white ultrasound, i.e. a 2D ultrasound.
