IVF treatment with eggs and sperm from donors consists of several steps that are carried out with the donors on the one hand and with the recipient on the other hand. We will now list all these steps:
- Start of ovarian stimulation in the egg donor
- Start of endometrial preparation in the recipient
- Follicular puncture in the egg donor
- Thawing of donor sperm
- In vitro fertilization of eggs and sperm
- Embryo culture and transfer
Sperm must always come from a sperm bank, as freezing for 6 months serves to confirm that the donor is not HIV-positive. However, egg donation can be done in fresh or frozen form.
