Embryonic layers and organogenesis

The 3 layers or leaves that form the trilaminar embryonic disc (ectoderm, mesoderm and endoderm) are the ones that will give rise to all the organs and tissues of the human body.

The ectoderm will form the entire central nervous system and more superficial tissues such as the epidermis. On the other hand, the mesoderm will give rise to most systems such as the muscular, skeletal, cartilaginous, urogenital, blood, and so on. Finally, the endoderm will form the most internal organs belonging to the digestive system and the respiratory system.
