To do Kegel exercises, the woman or man must contract the pelvic floor muscles and hold the contraction for 10 seconds (at first, it is common that it is not possible to hold the contraction for that long). The muscles should then relax and rest.
A very general Kegel exercise training plan is to perform 10 contractions and relaxations each time the Kegel exercises are performed, which should be done 3 times a day.
