    1. I wanted to know if it´s better to freeze eggs or embryos. My husband and I want kids but not for a couple of years. Thanks

      • Hello Daitona,

Fertility preservation is recommended for older women who do not yet want to have children but want to keep their chances of conceiving open in the future.

Egg preservation is usually more complex because they are large cells with a lot of water inside which can lead to the formation of ice crystals during freezing, this can damage their DNA and therefore not be viable for pregnancy.

Freezing embryos on the other hand decrease this risk as well as provides the freezing of only viable embryos, reducing the steps through which the thawed egg must pass until the embryo is formed, where the viability of the egg would be put at risk.

I recommend that you read the following article where the characteristics are explained: What is Embryo vitrification?

        Greetings
