Most doctors agree that a testicular examination is a preventive measure to detect early the presence of cancer. The steps to follow are as follows:
- Palpate the scrotal area.
- Inspect first one testicle and then the other.
- Examine the penis.
- Observe the opening of the urethra.
- Look at the skin of the penis.
Testicular self-examination should be performed when the male is standing and in the shower.
