As a consequence of the typical hormonal changes during pregnancy, it is completely normal for the expectant mother to experience sudden mood swings without an apparent cause. Each trimester of pregnancy brings not only physical changes but also emotional ones.
For example, in the first trimester, many women feel joy upon learning they are pregnant. However, they may also feel anxious, as the first three months are when nausea is most common.
In contrast, the second trimester is the most emotionally stable. Nausea is no longer as frequent, and the expectant mother feels calmer.
Finally, in the third trimester, nervousness arises, and the mother feels impatient for the baby’s arrival. Pregnancy is nearing its end, and she wants to have everything ready for her baby.
