During egg donation treatment, the woman must self-inject a series of hormonal drugs to perform ovarian stimulation so that several ovarian follicles can grow at once.
To do this, the doctor will give the donor instructions on the days and amount of medication to be administered. In addition, the donor has to come regularly to the clinic for stimulation checks, which consist of ultrasound scans and blood tests.
There are 3 types of hormonal drugs that are administered during the cycle: gonadotropins, GnRH analogues and finally the hormone hCG.
