Throughout the final weeks of the first trimester of pregnancy, the muscles of the baby-to-be will develop, including the diaphragm. The kidneys start working and expelling fetal urine, the main ingrediente of amniotic fluid. From week 11 onwards, the fetus produces its own red blood cells.
