In the seventh week of pregnancy, the gestational age of the embryo is 5 weeks. This difference is due to the fact that the weeks of pregnancy are counted from the date of the last menstrual period, i.e. 15 days before conception.
In this week of pregnancy, the embryo is about 1 cm long and the development of all its organs and systems continues. The size of the embryo in week 7 of pregnancy can be compared to the size of a chickpea.
