What does anteflexion of the uterus mean?

Last Update: 12/22/2020

The uterus in anteflexion is a term used to describe the tilting of the uterus when it is forward. This type of uterus falls on the bladder, which causes high tension in the surrounding tissues.

Some women with an anteflexed uterus describe that they suffer more frequently from cystitis. In addition, the frequency of urination in these women is also increased.

However, the uterus in anteflexion is a normal position, so women should not have problems with fertility or pregnancy.

It should be noted that each woman will have her own uterine position and this can change throughout life.
