In accordance with the Spanish Law 14/2006, of 26 May, on Assisted Human Reproduction Techniques (LAHRT), any woman or couple can undergo fertility treatment as long as they are 18 or older, and agree to sign an informed consent whereby they accept freely to the application of such fertility treatment.
Moreover, the law expressly specifies that any woman can access fertility care in Spain, irrespective of her sexual orientation or marital status.
As for In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), one of the main requirements that should be met in all cases is to transfer a maximum of three embryos per cycle.
Finally, Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) is allowed in Spain as long as it is done for medical purposes only, and after obtaining express authorization by the National Commission on Assisted Human Reproduction (CNRHA).
