There are times when a pregnant woman with asthma abandons her treatment for fear that it may harm the baby. However, having poorly controlled asthma in pregnancy is considered to be more dangerous to her and the baby than the possible adverse effects of the medications that are commonly used to maintain asthma control.
Therefore, taking the treatment prescribed by the asthma specialist during pregnancy would outweigh the possible risks.
