If the pregnant woman does not maintain good asthma control, it can decrease the oxygen reaching the fetus. Poorly controlled asthma during pregnancy can have some complications for the baby such as the following:
- Premature delivery.
- Low birth weight.
- Intrauterine growth retardation.
- Perinatal mortality.
Therefore, to avoid complications in the pregnant woman and the baby, it is important to have an adequate control of asthma during pregnancy.
